Is the Steelside Adrianne bookcase sturdy enough for books?

It handles normal paperbacks and decor, but it is a light steel etagere, not a heavy bookcase. Spread weight across shelves and anchor it to the wall for safety.

How wide are the shelves?

The unit is 15.7 inches wide, so shelves fit standard books and small planters. Oversized art books and wide storage bins will not fit.

Does it have a back panel?

No. It is backless, so you see through it and can place it as a room divider or against a wall without hiding the wall.

It stands 72.2 inches high with five shelves. Check your ceiling and reach height before placing it in a low room.

When is the best time to buy it?

The best new price seen is $76.99 at Wayfair as of November 5, 2026, from a single store. Watch for seasonal furniture sales, since only one store currently prices it new.

Our take on the Steelside Adrianne 72.2'' H Steel Etagere Bookcase

The Steelside Adrianne is a 72.2-inch-tall open etagere with five shelves in a gold steel frame. Its backless design keeps sightlines open, so it suits a corner, hallway or living room wall where you want display space without a solid panel behind it. At 15.7 inches wide it is narrow, and the best new price is $76.99 at Wayfair as of November 5, 2026, with only one store pricing it new.

Best forRenters and small apartments needing tall, narrow storageDisplaying books, plants and decor in an open living roomA hallway or entryway where a backless shelf keeps the space airyShoppers who want a gold metal accent piece on a budget

Pros

Five shelves in a tall 72.2-inch frame give plenty of vertical storage for a 15.7-inch footprint
Backless, open steel design keeps a room feeling light and shows decor from both sides
Gold finish works as a statement piece rather than plain utility shelving
Assembly is straightforward for most owners
Holds books and decor well for the price

Cons

Narrow 15.7-inch shelves limit what fits; wide books and large bins are out
Open back means no hiding clutter and nothing to brace against a wall
Some owners report the frame can feel wobbly until fully loaded or anchored
Gold finish may show fingerprints and scuffs
Not a heavy-duty bookcase for dense hardcover collections
