Our take on the Streamdale Upholstered Double Twin Size Daybed with Trundle and Drawer

The Streamdale Upholstered Double Twin Daybed is a beige upholstered daybed that holds two twin mattresses: one on the main platform and one on a pull-out trundle. A built-in drawer adds storage under the seat. It is built on an engineered wood (plywood) frame with linen-blend fabric. The latest price we have is $459 at ShopSimon as of November 3; we have no earlier price on record, so we cannot say whether that is high or low against its recent range.

Best for
Guest rooms that need to sleep three
Small apartments and studios
Kids' rooms and playrooms
Buyers who want hidden storage without a separate dresser
Pros
  • Sleeps three: main twin plus trundle twin
  • Trundle rolls out for night and tucks away by day
  • Built-in drawer for bedding and clothes
  • Upholstered linen-blend fabric looks softer than a metal frame
  • Plywood frame is sturdier than particleboard
Cons
  • Mattresses are not included; you need two twins
  • Trundle sits low, so the lower sleeper is close to the floor
  • Beige linen-blend fabric shows stains and needs spot cleaning
  • Assembly is required and the frame is heavy
  • No price history yet to judge whether $459 is a good deal

Questions and answers

Is the Streamdale daybed worth it?
It is a reasonable pick if you need three sleeping spots and storage in one footprint. At $459 at ShopSimon as of November 3, it costs more than a plain metal daybed but replaces a separate trundle and dresser.
Do I need to buy mattresses separately?
Yes. The frame takes two twin mattresses, one on the main platform and one on the trundle. Standard twin mattresses fit; keep the trundle mattress thin so it rolls under the frame.
How does it compare with a metal daybed with trundle?
The upholstered frame looks warmer and hides the trundle better, and the drawer adds storage a metal frame usually lacks. Metal daybeds are cheaper and easier to wipe clean.
What are the dimensions and weight limits?
The listing does not give exact dimensions or weight limits, so check the product page before ordering. Plan on a standard twin footprint of about 39 by 75 inches for each mattress.
How much assembly does it take?
Expect to assemble the frame, drawer and trundle casters yourself, which usually takes one to two hours with two people. The plywood panels are heavy, so build it where it will stay.
When is the price lowest?
We have no price history for this daybed yet, so we cannot point to a cheapest time. Compare the $459 ShopSimon price against other stores before buying.
