Questions and answers

Is the SUGIFT 70mm telescope worth it for a beginner?

Yes, if you want a low-cost first scope for the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn and bright clusters. It is not a good choice if you expect detailed views of faint galaxies or nebulae.

What can I actually see with a 70mm aperture?

Craters on the Moon, Jupiter and its moons, Saturn's rings at modest power, and bright open clusters. Faint deep-sky objects will look like dim smudges or not appear at all.

Does it come with a tripod and eyepieces?

The listing describes a refractor with an altazimuth mount and a finderscope. Confirm the exact eyepiece and tripod contents with Lowe's before buying, since the listing is thin on accessories.

Is this telescope good for kids?

It suits older kids with adult help. The mount is simple, but the scope needs careful handling and a steady surface to keep targets in view.

When is the best time to buy it?

Only one store lists it new at $67.99 as of November 4, 2026, so there is no competing price to wait for. Watch for holiday sales at Lowe's if you are not in a hurry.

Where is the SUGIFT 70mm Aperture 400mm AZ Mount Beginner Telescope cheapest?

At Lowe's, for $67.99, as of our latest check.
