- Is this shade really 100% blackout?
- Yes. Sun Zero rates the Somerton with a 100% blackout backing, so it blocks essentially all outside light when fully lowered. Small light gaps at the edges are normal on inside-mount shades.
- What size window does 34 x 64 fit?
- It suits a window about 34 inches wide and up to 64 inches tall. For an inside mount, measure the opening and allow for the mounting hardware; for an outside mount, add a few inches on each side.
- Does it need a cord or batteries?
- No. It uses a cordless spring roller: pull down to lower and lift to raise. There is no motor, remote or battery.
- How do I clean it?
- Dust with a soft brush or vacuum attachment. Spot-clean the fabric gently and avoid soaking the blackout lining, which can wrinkle.
- Is $60 a good price?
- At $60.00 at JCPenney as of November 7, 2026, it is at the low end of its recent range across the four stores that list it new. Compare the same size before buying, since prices vary by width.
