Our take on the sunjurt Brushless Random Orbital Sander 5mm Orbit 350W Corded Electric

The sunjurt Brushless Random Orbital Sander is a corded 120V electric sander rated at 350W (about 3 amps) with a 5mm orbit, aimed at finish sanding and light stock removal on wood, paint and filler. Its brushless motor is the main selling point at this level: fewer wearing parts and steadier speed under load than a brushed motor. The 5mm orbit is a fine-finishing size, not a stripping one, so expect smooth results on flat panels rather than fast material removal. No current price or recent price range was provided, so check the live comparison before judging whether the price is good.

Pros
  • Brushless motor should outlast a brushed one and hold speed under pressure
  • 5mm orbit leaves fewer swirl marks on final passes
  • Corded 120V power means no battery charging or run-time limits
  • Standard 5-inch hook-and-loop paper is cheap and easy to find
  • Simple on/off control with little to set up
Cons
  • 350W is modest; heavy stock removal will be slow
  • Cord limits you to working near an outlet
  • 5mm orbit is too fine for aggressive stripping
  • No dust collection details given, so plan on a shop vac or mask
  • Brushless motors cost more to replace if they fail out of warranty

Questions and answers

Is a 5mm orbit good for sanding wood?
Yes for finishing. A 5mm orbit smooths flat surfaces and blends paint or varnish coats well. For stripping thick material, a larger-orbit sander or a belt sander will be much faster.
Does brushless really matter on a sander?
It helps. A brushless motor has no brushes to wear out and tends to keep its speed when you press down, so it usually lasts longer than a cheap brushed model. It does not add power; the 350W rating still sets the limit.
What sanding discs does it take?
It uses standard 5-inch hook-and-loop discs, which are sold in every grit at any hardware store. Buy a mixed pack from 80 to 220 grit to cover most jobs.
Can I use it for drywall?
It can sand drywall compound, but the dust will be heavy and no dust port details are given. Use a mask and ventilate, or pick a sander with a known dust collection setup.
Is it worth it over a cheaper brushed sander?
If you sand often, the brushless motor is the reason to pay more. For occasional weekend jobs, a brushed sander at a lower price will do the same work.
When is the best time to buy?
Corded power tools usually drop around Black Friday and spring home-improvement sales. Set a price alert and compare across stores rather than buying at the first listing you see.
