Is $209.95 a good price for a new SNES?

With only one new listing at $209.95 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, there is no competing new price to compare. Used consoles typically sell for much less, so the premium is for new condition.

Does the SNES work on a modern TV?

It outputs 240p over composite video, which most HDTVs accept but display softly. An upscaler or a CRT gives a sharper picture.

What comes in the box?

This is a retail bundle with the console, one controller and accessories. Games are not included.

How does it compare with the SNES Classic Mini?

The Mini plugs into HDMI and comes with built-in games, while the original plays real cartridges and needs composite hookups. Choose the original for collecting, the Mini for convenience.

No. The listing states there is no written warranty, so check the return policy of the store you buy from.

Our take on the Super Nintendo SNES System Video Game Console

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (model SHVC-001) is Nintendo's 16-bit home console from the early 1990s. It runs the SNES cartridge library, outputs 240p over composite, and plays stereo sound through the TV. This is a gray retail bundle with one controller and accessories. At $209.95 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new listing we track, so there is no recent range to compare against.
