Our take on the Superior XR 9.7 GF Ultegra Di2 Road Bike

The Superior XR 9.7 GF is a carbon endurance road bike built for long days in the saddle, with a comfort-oriented geometry and Shimano's 12-speed Ultegra Di2 electronic groupset. It pairs that drivetrain with hydraulic disc brakes for confident stopping in all weather. The only price seen so far is $3,999.99 at Distritech as of November 2, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare against yet.

Questions and answers

Is the Superior XR 9.7 GF worth $3,999.99?
At $3,999.99 at Distritech as of November 2, 2026, you are paying for a carbon frame plus Ultegra Di2, which is a fair combination at that level. Whether it is worth it depends on whether you want electronic shifting and endurance geometry rather than a race bike.
Is Ultegra Di2 worth it over mechanical Ultegra?
Di2 shifts faster and more consistently under load and rarely needs cable adjustment. The trade-off is battery charging and higher replacement costs if a derailleur is damaged.
What kind of riding is this bike built for?
The GF in the name points to gran fondo and endurance riding: a more upright position and stable handling for long distances. It is not a crit-racing frame.
Does it come with hydraulic disc brakes?
Yes. The bike is listed with hydraulic brakes, which give better modulation and wet-weather stopping than rim brakes.
How many gears does it have?
It has a 12-speed drivetrain through the Ultegra Di2 groupset, giving a wide range for climbing and flat roads.
When is the best time to buy it?
Only one price has been recorded, $3,999.99 on November 2, 2026, so there is no pattern yet. Watch for end-of-season sales, when road bikes are typically discounted.
Is the Superior XR 9.7 GF Ultegra Di2 Road Bike at its lowest price?
The lowest price we've seen is $3,999.99 at BikesOnline USA on November 2.
