Questions and answers

Is the Superior XR 9.8 GF worth $4,699.99?
At $4,699.99 at BikesOnline USA as of October 31, 2026, you get an Ultegra Di2 groupset and DT Swiss ERC 1400 carbon wheels, which are expensive to buy separately. That makes it reasonable value if you want a light road bike with electronic shifting.
Is it a road bike or a gravel bike?
It is a road bike first, with clearance for tires up to 45mm. That lets you run wider rubber or light gravel tires, but the geometry and gearing favor pavement.
How does it compare with a Shimano 105 Di2 bike?
Ultegra Di2 shifts slightly faster and is lighter than 105 Di2, and this build adds carbon DT Swiss wheels. A 105 Di2 bike usually costs less but needs a wheel upgrade to match.
Do I need to charge the battery?
Yes. The Ultegra Di2 system runs on a rechargeable battery that typically lasts many rides, but you should top it up periodically and keep the firmware updated.
What is in the box?
You get the complete bike, pro-built and mostly assembled, plus the Di2 charging cable and small setup tools. Pedals are not included.
When is it cheapest?
The recorded price has stayed at $4,699.99 since October 31, 2026, so there is no cheaper window yet. Watch for end-of-season sales or clearance on prior model years.
Is the Superior XR 9.8 GF Mountain Bike at its lowest price?
The lowest price we've seen is $4,699.99 at BikesOnline USA on October 31.
