Is the Surya Acacia ACC-2302 rug really washable?

Surya lists it as washable and easy care. For a handmade wool-blend rug, spot clean first and follow the care label; a full wash is best left to a professional rug cleaner.

How thick is it, and will doors clear it?

It is 0.2 inches thick, a flat weave. That is thin enough for most doors to swing over it and for chairs to slide on it.

Does it need a rug pad?

A pad is recommended. The flat weave has little grip on hard floors, and a pad adds cushioning and keeps the rug from creeping.

It is a handmade flat weave of wool and synthetic fibers, which pairs wool's durability with synthetic strength.

Will the black color show pet hair?

Yes. A black ground tends to show light-colored pet hair, lint and dust, so it needs regular vacuuming.

Where does it work best in a home?

High-traffic, spill-prone spots: entryways, hallways, kitchens and under dining tables. Its thin profile suits rooms where a thick pile would block doors or chairs.

Our take on the Surya Acacia ACC-2302 Rug
