Our take on the Tag Gateway 2.0 3 Piece Hard side Spinner Luggage Set

The Tag Gateway 2.0 is a three-piece hard-sided spinner set: a 20-inch carry-on, a 24-inch check-in and a 28-inch check-in, all in ABS plastic with 360-degree eight-wheel spinners, TSA locks and 2 inches of expansion. The 28-inch case measures 28 by 19.3 by 9.9 inches and the full set weighs 21.12 lbs. It is a budget-priced set built for occasional leisure travel, not for rough handling. Questions and answers

Is the Tag Gateway 2.0 set worth it?
For light, occasional travel at a low price, yes. If you fly often or check bags on long international trips, the ABS shell and wheel complaints make a tougher set a safer buy.
How does it compare with a polycarbonate or soft-side set?
Polycarbonate shells flex and resist cracking better than ABS, and soft-side bags absorb impacts but offer less protection. This set wins on price and matching sizes, not on toughness.
What are the size and weight limits?
The 20-inch case is carry-on sized for most US airlines; the 24-inch and 28-inch cases must be checked. The 28-inch case is 28 by 19.3 by 9.9 inches externally, and the whole set weighs 21.12 lbs.
Does the 28-inch case fit airline check-in limits?
At 28 inches tall it is within the common 62 linear-inch checked limit, but confirm with your airline. The 2-inch expansion can push it over on some carriers.
What is in the box?
One 20-inch carry-on, one 24-inch check-in and one 28-inch check-in, each with a TSA lock, spinner wheels and a retractable push-button handle.
When is it cheapest?
Watch for seasonal luggage sales and back-to-school events, when three-piece sets are usually discounted. Check the price history here to see whether the current price is below its recent range.
