Our take on the Talens Art Creation Acrylic Paint 12mL 8 Set

This is a small starter set of Talens Art Creation acrylic paint in 12 mL tubes, aimed at beginners and students trying acrylics for the first time. The paint is water-based and dries to a water-resistant film, so brushes clean up with soap and water while the finished work holds up. The best new price is $20.49 at Staples as of November 7, 2026, and it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is this set good for a beginner?
Yes. It is a small, water-based acrylic set at a low price, which suits a first try at acrylic painting without buying large tubes.
How big are the tubes?
Each tube holds 12 mL of paint. That is enough for small studies but not for large canvases.
Do I need special brushes or mediums?
No. The paint thins with water and cleans up with water, so ordinary synthetic brushes work. A medium is optional.
Is the paint waterproof once dry?
The paint is water-based but dries to a water-resistant film, so finished work resists light moisture. It is not a substitute for a varnish.
What is the best price right now?
$20.49 at Staples as of November 7, 2026. It is the only new price listed, so compare against local art stores before buying.
Where is the Talens Art Creation Acrylic Paint 12mL 8 Set cheapest?
At Staples, for $20.49, as of our latest check.
