Is the TCL Q6 a real QLED TV?

Yes. The Q6 uses a quantum dot layer over an LED backlight, which is what QLED means. It is not mini-LED, so brightness and contrast are below TCL's higher QM series.

Is $298 a good price for the 50-inch Q6?

It is a low price for a 50-inch QLED. The listing shows only one store at $298 as of November 7, 2026, so compare against other sizes and the QM series before buying.

Does it support 4K HDR?

Yes. The panel is 3840x2160 and accepts HDR content. Peak brightness is modest, so HDR looks better in a dim room.

Is it good for gaming?

It handles 4K console play, but the 60Hz panel and limited brightness suit casual gaming more than fast competitive play.

The TV, a stand, a remote and power cable. A wall mount and HDMI cables are not included.

Budget TCL sets usually drop around Black Friday and Super Bowl season. Track the price history here rather than assuming $298 is the floor.

Our take on the TCL 50 Class Q6 Series QLED TV

The TCL Q6 is a 50-inch 4K QLED TV running Google TV, with HDR support and TCL's image enhancement processing. QLED gives it wider color and higher brightness than a basic LED set at this size, and Google TV bundles streaming apps with voice search. At $298 at Sam's Club as of November 7, 2026, it is a low entry point for a 50-inch QLED, and only one store is listed at that price.
