Is the TCL S4-Series worth it?

Yes if your priority is screen size per dollar and you mostly stream. If you want deep blacks, high brightness or 120 Hz gaming, spend more on a QLED or mini-LED set.

Is it good for gaming?

It is fine for casual console play at 60 Hz, but it lacks variable refresh rate and HDMI 2.1. Competitive gamers should look at a 120 Hz model.

What sizes does it come in?

The S4-Series is offered in 65-inch and 75-inch versions, both flat LED panels with the same 4K resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate.

Does it have Roku built in?

Yes. Roku is the built-in smart system, with Netflix, Hulu and other major apps, plus voice control through Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri.

How many HDMI ports does it have?

Four HDMI ports, plus Wi-Fi and an Ethernet port for a wired connection.

Budget TCL sets usually drop around Black Friday, back-to-school and major sales events. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the TCL S4-Series 4K UHD HDR Smart Roku TV

The TCL S4-Series is a budget 4K LED TV running the Roku smart platform, sold in 65- and 75-inch sizes. It covers the basics well: 3840 x 2160 resolution, HDR support, four HDMI ports, Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and voice control through Google Assistant, Alexa or Siri. The panel is a standard 60 Hz LED, so it suits movies, streaming and casual TV more than fast gaming. It is one of the cheaper ways into a large 4K screen, and its rating of 3.9 out of 5 from about 4,400 ratings reflects a mixed but mostly positive reception.
