Our take on the Thanaddo 12 ft. x 10 ft. Outdoor Gray Metal Storage Shed with Window

The Thanaddo 12 ft. x 10 ft. Outdoor Gray Metal Storage Shed is a galvanized steel garden building with a window, about 663 cubic feet of interior space, and a 40 lb roof load rating. It suits buyers who want a large, low-maintenance place for lawn equipment, bikes and tools without a concrete foundation. The window adds daylight but is a single fixed pane, so expect to add your own shelving and lighting. It is a budget-tier metal shed, so check the current price against other 12x10 steel sheds before ordering.

Pros
  • About 663 cubic feet of floor-to-roof space, large for a 12x10 footprint
  • Galvanized steel panels resist rot, termites and most weather
  • Window brings in daylight without wiring
  • Sloped roof sheds rain and snow
  • Ships flat and assembles with hand tools
Cons
  • 40 lb roof load is low; it is not built for heavy snow or storage on top
  • Steel panels dent and can rust at cut edges and scratches
  • No floor included; you need a level base or slab
  • Thin panels make it noisy in rain and hail
  • Assembly takes two people and most of a day

Questions and answers

Is the Thanaddo 12x10 metal shed worth it?
It is a reasonable value if you need a large, cheap, weather-resistant shed and can build a level base. It is not the right pick if you expect heavy snow loads or a rigid, dent-proof structure.
Does it need a foundation?
Yes. The shed has no floor, so set it on a level concrete slab, pavers or a timber frame. An uneven base causes panel misalignment and door problems.
How much snow can the roof hold?
The rated maximum roof load is 40 lbs, which is low. Clear snow promptly in winter and do not store heavy items on the roof.
Can I put a lock on it?
The doors have a hasp for a padlock, but the padlock is not included. Use a weather-resistant lock and check that the doors close squarely after assembly.
What is in the box?
Steel panels, frame parts, the window, doors, hinges and fasteners, plus instructions. A floor, shelving and padlock are not included.
When is it cheapest?
Metal sheds usually drop in late summer and around Black Friday. Compare prices across stores and check the price history before buying.
