Is this canvas primed and ready to paint?

The listing describes a white cotton canvas, but does not state whether it is gessoed. Most stretched canvases at this price are triple-primed; check the label or add a coat of gesso if the surface feels raw.

What does the 3/4-inch gallery profile mean?

The stretcher bars are 3/4 inch deep, so the canvas wraps around the sides and the piece can hang without a frame. It is shallower than a 1.5-inch gallery canvas.

Is $16 a good price for a 24 x 30 canvas?

At $16.00 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is a low price for this size. Only one store lists it new, so compare against local art store prices before assuming it is the cheapest.

Does it come with hanging hardware?

The listing does not mention hooks, wire or sawtooth hangers. Expect to supply your own hanging hardware.

Can I use oil paint on it?

Cotton canvas works with oil paint if it is properly primed. Confirm the priming first, since oil can rot unprimed cotton over time.
