Our take on the The Wild Wood Tarot

The Wild Wood Tarot is a 78-card deck and 160-page guidebook set by John Matthews and Mark Ryan, illustrated by Will Worthington. Its imagery draws on pre-Celtic mythology and shamanic themes, with forest archetypes like the Green Man and Woman, the Archer and the Blasted Oak. The cards are built around seasonal rhythms and ancient festivals, and the guidebook covers use as a meditation system, divinatory oracle or reference. At $21.15 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, it is the lowest of the two new prices listed.

What reviewers say

Owners of The Wild Wood Tarot generally praise the artwork and the nature-based themes, and many use it for meditation as much as for readings. The most common complaints concern the non-standard card structure and the guidebook's depth.
