Our take on the Therma-Tru Grid Entry 36-in 80-in x 6-9/16-in Fiberglass Full Lite Left-hand Inswing Real Red Painted Prehung Front Door with Brickmould

This is a prehung Therma-Tru fiberglass entry door, 36 in wide by 80 in tall, with a full-lite tempered glass panel and a red painted finish. The 6-9/16 in frame with brickmould suits a 2x6 wall, and the insulating core and aluminum impact frame are built for exterior use. It arrives ready for a lockset and deadbolt, with weatherstripping included. The only new price found is $2,171.04 at Lowe's as of November 8, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Pros

Cons
  • Listed as both painted and unfinished, so confirm the finish before ordering
  • Handing is listed inconsistently (left-hand in name, right-hand in specs)
  • Only one store carries it new, so price competition is limited
  • Full glass panel gives less privacy and insulation than a solid door
  • Premium price for a single door

Questions and answers

Is this door left- or right-hand inswing?
The name says left-hand inswing, but the specs list right-hand inswing. Confirm handing with the seller before ordering, since it decides which side the hinges sit on.
What wall thickness does the 6-9/16 in frame fit?
A 6-9/16 in jamb is sized for 2x6 exterior wall construction. For 2x4 walls you would need a narrower jamb.
Does it come with a lockset?
No. It is prepped for a lockset and deadbolt, but the hardware is not included. Weatherstripping and brickmould are included.
Is the glass safe for an exterior door?
Yes, the full-lite panel is tempered glass, which is the standard for entry doors.
Is the red finish painted or unfinished?
The listing says both painted and unfinished. Ask the seller whether the red paint is factory-applied and ready to hang or needs finishing on site.
Is $2,171.04 a good price?
Only one store, Lowe's, lists it new at $2,171.04 as of November 8, 2026, so there is no second price to compare. Check comparable Therma-Tru full-lite fiberglass doors to judge the premium.
Where is the Therma-Tru Grid Entry 36-in 80-in x 6-9/16-in Fiberglass Full Lite Left-hand Inswing Real Red Painted Prehung Front Door with Brickmould cheapest?
At Lowe's, for $2,401.71, as of our latest check.
