Our take on the TIDRADIO TD-G19 Global PTT Rapid PoC Radio

The TIDRADIO TD-G19 is a two-pack of push-to-talk radios that run over 4G LTE cellular networks instead of short-range UHF/VHF frequencies, so range is limited only by cell coverage. It ships with SIM cards and uses the Global PTT app for nationwide talk. The latest best price is $65.44 at Distritech as of November 2, 2026, down from $68.88 on November 1, so it sits at the low end of its short recent range.

Pros
  • Cellular PTT gives effectively unlimited range where there is LTE coverage
  • Two radios and SIM cards included in one box
  • No FCC license or frequency programming needed
  • Simple push-to-talk operation like a normal walkie-talkie
  • Cheaper than most dedicated PoC radios at around $65 for the pair
Cons
  • Needs cellular signal; dead zones mean no communication
  • Requires a data plan or SIM subscription after any included allowance runs out
  • Network latency can delay speech compared with analog radios
  • Only one rating so far, at 3 out of 5
  • Not ruggedized or waterproof like purpose-built field radios

Questions and answers

Does it really work nationwide?
Yes, as long as both radios have LTE coverage. It talks over cellular data, not radio waves, so distance between users does not matter, but a dead zone stops it.
Do I need a SIM card and a plan?
The radios ship with SIM cards. You will still need active data service on each one, either from the included SIM or your own, so budget for a monthly plan.
Is a license required?
No. Because it uses cellular PTT rather than licensed or unlicensed radio frequencies, no FCC radio license is needed.
How does it compare with a normal walkie-talkie?
A standard walkie-talkie works without cell service but reaches only a mile or two. The TD-G19 reaches anywhere with LTE, at the cost of depending on a network and a data plan.
What is in the box?
The listing is a two-pack: two TD-G19 radios and SIM cards. Check the listing for charger and cable details before ordering.
When is it cheapest?
The lowest recent price was $65.44 at Distritech on November 2, 2026, versus $68.88 on November 1. The spread is small, so waiting rarely saves much.
