Our take on the Timechee 65" Queen Bookcase Headboard with RGB Light and Adjustable Shelf

The Timechee 65-inch Queen bookcase headboard is an MDF headboard with open shelving and built-in RGB lighting, sold in grey, beige, black, blue and brown. It stands 43 inches tall and 11.4 inches deep, so the shelves sit behind the mattress rather than over it. The RGB light adds a reading glow or accent color without a bedside lamp. It is a budget-tier piece with only 6 ratings so far, so treat the 4.7 score as thin evidence.

Best forReaders who want books and a lamp-free light within arm's reachRenters or first-apartment setups wanting storage without a nightstandTeens and young adults who like color-changing accent lightingQueen-bed owners with wall space for a 65-inch-wide headboard
Pros
  • Open bookcase shelves keep books, glasses and a phone off the floor
  • RGB lighting doubles as a reading light and a night accent
  • Adjustable shelf height fits taller books and small boxes
  • 43-inch height gives solid backing above a queen mattress
  • Five color finishes make matching an existing bed frame easier
Cons
  • MDF construction is heavy and sensitive to moisture and dents
  • 11.4-inch depth eats floor space behind the bed
  • RGB light needs power, so a cord runs to an outlet
  • Assembly and wall attachment are required for a piece this size
  • Only 6 ratings, so long-term durability is unproven

Questions and answers

Is this headboard worth it?
If you want shelf storage and accent lighting without buying a nightstand and lamp, it covers both for one price. If you only need a plain backboard, a simpler headboard costs less and takes less assembly.
Will it fit a standard queen bed?
Yes. It is listed as queen size at 65 inches wide, which matches a standard queen mattress width of 60 inches with a little overhang on each side. Check your frame's mounting points before buying.
Does the RGB light need to stay plugged in?
Yes. The light runs on household power, so plan for a cord to reach an outlet near the head of the bed. There is no battery option listed.
How tall are the shelves?
The shelf is adjustable, so you can set the spacing to fit taller books or small storage boxes. Exact shelf heights are not listed; the overall unit is 43 inches tall.
What is in the box?
The headboard panels, shelves, RGB light and mounting hardware are included. A mattress, bed frame and tools are not.
When is it cheapest?
Bedroom furniture like this tends to dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Set a price alert and compare across stores rather than buying at first sight.
