Is the TB30B worth it for a half-acre lawn?

Yes, if your lawn is mostly open with some obstacles. The 30-inch deck and 18-inch turn radius suit a half acre, but expect more passes than a wider deck would need.

How does it compare with a zero-turn mower?

A zero-turn turns tighter and mows faster on open ground. The TB30B is cheaper, smaller to store and easier for a first-time rider to handle.

What is the cutting width and turn radius?

It has a 30-inch rotary deck and an 18-inch turn radius, which lets it work around beds and fences without much back-and-forth.

Does it have cruise control and automatic drive?

Yes. It uses rear-wheel hydrostatic automatic drive and includes cruise control for long straight runs.

What size lawn is it rated for?

Troy-Bilt rates it for about 0.5 acre. Larger lawns will take noticeably longer because of the narrow deck.

When is the price lowest?

Riding mowers usually drop in late fall and winter, outside the spring mowing season. The best new price was $1,924 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026.
