Questions and answers

Is the Troy-Bilt 21-inch 140cc mower worth it?
For a small, flat yard on a budget, yes. It covers the basics: self-propulsion, bagging, mulching and six cut heights. If you have slopes or want variable speed, spend more on a rear-wheel-drive model.
How does it compare with a rear-wheel-drive mower?
Front-wheel drive pulls the deck and is easier to turn, but it loses grip on hills. Rear-wheel drive costs more and handles slopes better. This mower is single-speed, so pace is fixed.
What cutting heights does it offer?
Six positions from 1.25 to 3.75 inches. That range covers a short summer cut up to a taller cut for thick or drought-stressed grass.
Does it bag and mulch?
Yes. It ships with a rear bag and supports mulching. No side discharge is listed, so plan on bagging or mulching.
How big is the engine and what fuel does it take?
It uses a 140cc Briggs & Stratton gas engine and needs no priming. Use fresh regular unleaded and check the oil before each season.
When is the price lowest?
Gas mowers usually drop in late summer and early fall as stores clear seasonal stock. Compare store prices and the price history before buying.
Where is the Troy-Bilt 21 inch 140cc Gas Front-Wheel Drive Walk-Behind Mower cheapest?
At eBay, for $312.00, as of our latest check.
