TrueNute Tree Iron Chelate FE-EDDHA 6% is a soil-drench iron supplement built for alkaline and high-pH soils, where most iron fertilizers become chemically locked out and unavailable to plant roots. The EDDHA chelating agent keeps iron in a plant-usable form across a pH range of 3–11 — far beyond what standard chelates (like DTPA or EDTA) can handle. This formula uses a dual-isomer blend of 4.8% ortho-ortho and 1.2% ortho-para EDDHA, giving trees a slow, steady iron supply that lasts up to 12 months per application. Use it to correct iron chlorosis (yellowing leaves with green veins) in maple, oak, fruit trees, shade trees, shrubs, and ornamentals. Mix 2–4 tablespoons per gallon of water and pour slowly under the canopy, from the drip line to the trunk, avoiding runoff. For best absorption, loosen the top 1–2 inches of soil before applying. Reapply every 3 weeks — trees take up minerals even in fall and winter dormancy, so don't skip the off-season. Note: FE-EDDHA will stain porous surfaces such as wood decking or concrete on contact. Apply away from hardscaping, or clean up spills immediately.
