Our take on the ULIESC Heavy Duty Metal Platform Bed Frame

The ULIESC Heavy Duty Metal Platform Bed Frame is a queen-size steel platform frame sold without a mattress or headboard. It uses a metal slat or panel base instead of a box spring, so a mattress sits directly on the frame. It is a budget-tier frame aimed at shoppers who want a simple, sturdy base. Its 3.9 out of 5 rating from 277 ratings suggests most owners are satisfied but a meaningful minority are not.

Questions and answers

Is this frame worth it compared with a box spring setup?
If you already have a mattress that works on a platform, this frame replaces the box spring and saves money. A box spring adds height and cost but is not required here.
Does it fit a standard queen mattress?
Yes. It is listed as a queen frame, so a standard queen mattress (60 by 80 inches) should fit. Check the frame's inner dimensions before buying if your mattress runs large.
Do I need a box spring with it?
No. It is a platform frame, so the mattress rests on the metal base. A box spring would only add height.
What is in the box?
The listing is frame only, so expect the metal frame, slats or panels, and assembly hardware. The mattress and headboard are not included.
Will it squeak?
Some owners of metal platform frames report squeaking over time. Tightening the bolts after assembly and adding felt pads at contact points can reduce noise.
When is it cheapest?
Budget metal frames like this tend to dip during major sales events and at the start of the school and moving seasons. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
What do buyers say about the ULIESC Heavy Duty Metal Platform Bed Frame?
