Our take on the ULIESC 7 Inch Metal Bed Frame

The ULIESC 7 Inch Metal Bed Frame is a low-profile steel platform-style frame for box springs, with a 1-inch telescoping width adjustment and 14 inches of clearance from floor to frame for underbed storage. It is aimed at guest rooms and simple setups, and the frame has mounting points for a DIY headboard of the same size. It carries a 3.9 out of 5 rating from 96 ratings, so reception is decent but not glowing.

Best forGuest bedroomsShoppers who want underbed storage spaceDIY headboard projectsRenters needing a simple, low-cost frame
Pros
  • 14-inch floor-to-frame clearance leaves room for storage bins
  • Width telescopes about 1 inch to fine-tune fit
  • Low 7-inch profile keeps the bed close to the floor
  • Supports a DIY headboard of matching size
  • Baked-on varnish finish resists scratches better than bare paint
Cons
  • Only about 1 inch of width adjustment, so it won't fit a wide range of mattress sizes
  • Requires a box spring; not a standalone mattress platform
  • Assembly is required
  • Low profile may be hard to get out of for taller or older users

Questions and answers

Is the ULIESC 7 Inch Metal Bed Frame worth it?
It is a budget frame best suited to a guest room or a box-spring setup. If you need a platform bed that holds a mattress without a box spring, look elsewhere.
Does it need a box spring?
Yes. The frame is designed for use with a box spring, so budget for one if you don't already have it.
How much underbed storage space does it give?
The floor-to-frame height is 14 inches, which fits most standard storage bins and suitcases.
What sizes does the adjustable width fit?
The width telescopes about 1 inch, so it only fine-tunes fit rather than converting between mattress sizes. Check the listed size against your mattress before buying.
Can I attach a headboard?
Yes. It has an option to mount a DIY headboard of the same size, though the headboard itself is not included.
Is assembly difficult?
Assembly is required and most owners describe it as straightforward, but it helps to have two people for the frame rails.
What do buyers say about the ULIESC 7 Inch Metal Bed Frame?
Rated 3.9 out of 5 from 96 ratings.
