Questions and answers

How many sheets can it cut at once?
The listed capacity is 10 sheets. That is fine for cardstock and small batches, but for stacks of copy paper expect to make several passes.
Can it cut laminated sheets or photo paper?
The specs list paper and plastic as compatible materials, so light laminated sheets and photo paper are within its intended use. Thick rigid plastic is not.
What size paper does a 12-inch cutter handle?
A 12-inch cut length covers US Letter (11 inches) and A4 (about 11.7 inches) with room to spare. Larger sheets need trimming in stages.
Is it safe for a home craft room?
It is a manual guillotine cutter, so the blade is exposed during use. Keep it out of reach of children and store it with the arm secured.
Is it worth it over a rotary trimmer?
A guillotine gives cleaner straight cuts on thicker stacks; a rotary trimmer is usually safer and better for long, thin trims. Choose based on the material you cut most.
When is the best time to buy?
Paper trimmers often drop during back-to-school and office-supply sales in late summer. Check the price history on this page before buying.
