Our take on the Varmilo Sword 2-68 Pacific Blue White LED 65% Mechanical Keyboard

The Varmilo Sword 2-68 is a 65% mechanical keyboard with a 68-key layout, a 16-key numpad layer, and tri-mode wireless: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4 GHz, and USB-C wired. It has hot-swappable switches, so you can change from the stock Kailh Prestige Voice, Kailh Prestige Silent, or Varmilo EC V2 line without soldering. RGB backlighting is zone-based rather than per-key. The best new price is $245 at Mechanical Keyboards as of November 6, 2026, from the only store listing it new.

Pros
  • Hot-swappable sockets make switch changes solder-free

  • Works with Windows and Mac OS
  • Dedicated media keys
  • RGB backlighting with several switch options at purchase
Cons

Questions and answers

Is the Varmilo Sword 2-68 good for typing?
It is built for typing, with a gasket-style 65% layout and a choice of Kailh Prestige Voice, Prestige Silent, or Varmilo EC V2 switches. Pick the Silent version if noise matters in a shared space.
Can I change the switches?
Yes. The board is hot-swappable, so you can pull and replace switches without soldering, as long as the replacements use a compatible 3- or 5-pin footprint.
Does it work with a Mac?
Yes. Varmilo lists Windows and Mac OS support, and you can connect over Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4 GHz, or USB-C.
Does it have a numpad?
There is no separate physical numpad. The 68-key layout includes a 16-key numpad layer you reach through a function key.
Is the RGB per-key?
No. The backlighting is RGB but not per-key, so lighting is controlled in zones rather than key by key.
When is it cheapest?
Only Mechanical Keyboards lists it new, at $245 as of November 6, 2026. With one seller, discounts are unlikely, so watch for seasonal sales at that store.
Where is the Varmilo Sword 2-68 Pacific Blue White LED 65% Mechanical Keyboard cheapest?
At Mechanical Keyboards, for $245.00, as of our latest check.
