Our take on the VEVOR 12V 60A DC to DC Battery Charger, 750W

The VEVOR 12V 60A DC to DC charger moves up to 750W from a vehicle's alternator or a starting battery into a separate house or auxiliary battery bank. It is aimed at van, RV, boat and off-grid builds that need faster charging than a simple relay or isolator provides. The unit is compact at about 9.45 by 5.71 inches and carries a one-year parts and labor warranty. VEVOR sells this class of charger at the low end of the DC-to-DC market, so it undercuts name-brand 60A units substantially.

Questions and answers

Is 60A too much for my alternator?
A 60A charger draws roughly 60A plus losses from the source, so check your alternator's spare capacity. Many stock van alternators are 150A or more, which leaves room, but small or older alternators may need a lower-output unit or a smart alternator setup.
Will it charge lithium batteries?
It is a universal 12V DC-to-DC charger, so it can charge lithium, AGM and flooded banks, but confirm the unit's charge profile matches your battery's recommended voltages. Lithium often wants a specific absorption voltage that fixed-profile chargers may not hit exactly.
Do I need a smart alternator or ignition signal?
Most DC-to-DC chargers of this type need an ignition or D+ signal so they only run when the engine is on. Wire that signal in, or the charger can drain the starting battery when the vehicle is parked.
What cable size should I use?
At 60A, plan on short runs of heavy cable, typically 4 AWG or larger, with a fuse at the source battery. Undersized cable causes voltage drop and heat and keeps the charger from reaching full output.
How does it compare with a Renogy or Victron unit?
It costs less and delivers similar headline amps, but the premium brands offer better charge profiles, Bluetooth monitoring and stronger support. Choose VEVOR if budget matters more than app control and refined charging logic.
When is it cheapest?
VEVOR gear tends to dip during sitewide sales and holiday promotions. Watch the price history on this page and buy when it falls below its recent average rather than at list price.
