Our take on the VEVOR Trench Drain 40.2 x 6.6 x 5.5 in 3 Pack Linear Drainage Channel

The VEVOR Trench Drain is a three-pack of linear drainage channels, each about 40 inches long, 6.6 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep, with HDPE frames. Together the three sections cover roughly 5.5 square feet and suit driveways, patios, garage aprons and pool decks where surface water pools. Assembly is required, and the channels are meant to be set into concrete or bedding and topped with a grate. This is a budget-priced import drain, so expect lighter plastic construction than cast-iron or polymer-concrete channel systems.

Pros
  • Three channels in one pack cover about 5.5 square feet
  • HDPE frame resists rust and most household chemicals
  • Light enough for one person to position before setting
  • Linear channel handles sheet flow better than a round drain
  • Lower cost than cast-iron or polymer-concrete channel drains
Cons
  • Plastic frame flexes and can crack under heavy vehicle loads
  • Assembly required before installation
  • Grate and load rating are not spelled out in the listing
  • Needs concrete or bedding work, so install is not a quick swap
  • Shallow 5.5-inch depth limits flow on large paved areas

Questions and answers

How much area does the 3-pack cover?
About 5.5 square feet in total, with each channel roughly 40 inches long and 6.6 inches wide. That is about 10 feet of linear run across the three sections.
Can I drive a car over it?
HDPE channels are best for foot traffic, patios and light residential use. For a driveway with regular vehicle loads, check the load rating or step up to a polymer-concrete or cast-iron channel.
What is included in the box?
Three channel sections with HDPE frames. Assembly is required, so confirm whether grates and end caps are included before ordering.
How deep does it need to be buried?
The channel is 5.5 inches deep, so plan a trench at least that deep plus room for bedding and the outlet connection. Slope it slightly toward the discharge point.
Is it cheaper than a cast-iron trench drain?
Yes, plastic HDPE channels generally cost less than cast-iron or polymer-concrete systems. The trade-off is lower load capacity and a shorter service life.
