Our take on the Vornado 133DC Energy Smart Compact Air Circulator Fan

The Vornado 133DC is a small tabletop air circulator that moves up to 152 cfm and runs as quiet as 40 dBA. It uses a DC motor with true variable speed and includes a remote, which is unusual at this size. It is 8.7 inches tall and tilts to aim airflow, but it does not oscillate. At $40.50 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range, well under its typical selling price.

Questions and answers

Is the Vornado 133DC worth it at $40.50?
Yes, if you want a quiet, adjustable desk fan. At $40.50 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it is near the bottom of its recent range, and the DC motor and remote are rare at this price.
How is it different from the standard 133?
The DC version adds true variable speed and a remote, and it runs quieter and uses less power than the AC motor model. The standard 133 gives you three fixed speeds and no remote.
How loud is it?
Vornado rates it at up to 40 dBA. At low speeds it is quiet enough for a nightstand; at full speed you will hear it across a small room.
Does it oscillate?
No. It tilts to aim airflow but does not sweep side to side, so you point it where you want the air.
What comes in the box?
The fan and a remote control. It is a plug-in fan, not battery powered, and it is not designed for wall mounting.
When is it cheapest?
Compact Vornado fans tend to dip during spring and early summer sales and around Black Friday. The current $40.50 at Walmart is already near the low end of its recent range.

At Walmart, for $40.50, as of our latest check.
