Our take on the Wayfair Basics 1800 Series Microfiber Sheet Set

The Wayfair Basics 1800 Series is a budget microfiber sheet set sold in Twin through California King, in solid, stripe and plaid patterns. The "1800" refers to the fabric's thread-count-style marketing number, not a cotton thread count; the sheets are 100% polyester microfiber. It is one of the cheapest complete sheet sets you can buy, and the best new price is $19.95 at eBay as of November 4, 2026.

Best forShoppers furnishing a guest room or dorm on a tight budgetAnyone who wants wrinkle-resistant sheets that need little ironingHouseholds buying several sets at oncePeople who prefer a smooth, cool-to-the-touch feel over crisp cotton
Pros
  • Very low price for a full set, including pillowcases
  • Wrinkle-resistant and holds up with minimal ironing
  • Soft, smooth hand feel out of the bag
  • Wide size range from Twin to California King
  • Several color and pattern options
Cons
  • Polyester microfiber traps heat; not ideal for hot sleepers
  • Thin fabric that may pill or wear faster than cotton
  • Less breathable and less crisp than cotton percale or sateen
  • "1800 series" is a marketing label, not a true thread count

Questions and answers

Is the 1800 series a real thread count?
No. It is a marketing number for the microfiber fabric, not a cotton thread count. Judge the sheets by the polyester microfiber material instead.
Are these sheets good for hot sleepers?
Generally not the best pick. Polyester microfiber holds heat more than cotton, so hot sleepers often prefer cotton percale or linen.
What comes in the set?
A flat sheet, a fitted sheet and pillowcase s or cases sized to the bed. Twin and Twin XL sets include one pillowcase; larger sizes include two.
Do they fit deep mattresses?
The fitted sheet has elastic all around, but pocket depth is limited. Very thick mattresses or toppers may pull the corners loose.
When is the price lowest?
Budget microfiber sets like this drop most during back-to-school and holiday sales. At $19.95 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is already near the bottom of its usual range.
Where is the Wayfair Basics 1800 Series Microfiber Sheet Set cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $23.99, 83% off, as of our latest check.
