Is the slipcover machine washable?

Yes. The cover is designed to be removed and washed, which is the main reason to pick this sofa over a fixed-cover velvet one. Follow the care label and re-fit while slightly damp to help it settle.

Does it really work as a sleeper?

Yes, a sleeper is part of the build. Expect a standard pull-out mattress rather than a full bed mattress, and check the open depth against your room.

Will it fit through my door?

At 92 inches long it usually ships in sections, but check the doorway and hallway width before ordering. Measure the room too, since a sofa this long needs space around it.

How does the price compare?

$1,599.99 at Wayfair as of November 7, 2026 is the only new price listed, so there is no lower store price to compare. Watch for Wayfair sitewide sales, when this line typically drops.

Is performance velvet safe for pets?

It is more stain-resistant than standard velvet and the cover washes, but claws can still snag the pile. It is a reasonable choice for cats and dogs, not a scratch-proof one.

Our take on the Wayfair Lucia Slipcovered Sofa

The Lucia is a 92-inch slipcovered sofa in Bella Ruby performance velvet, with a wood frame, recessed arms, pillow back and a sleeper function. The slipcover is the point: it can be removed and washed, which matters for a velvet sofa in a house with pets or kids. It is a long, deep-seated piece, so measure the room before ordering. At $1,599.99 at Wayfair as of November 7, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.
