Is the iGen2550c good for home backup?

Yes for essentials. Its 1,900 running watts handle a fridge, lights, router and phone charging, but not large appliances like a central AC or electric range.

It has a TT-30R outlet, but 1,900 running watts will only power a small RV load such as lights and a fan, not an air conditioner.

Westinghouse rates it at 52 dBA at low load, quieter than a normal conversation. It gets louder as load increases.

Does it have electric start?

No. It starts with a recoil pull cord only.
