Do I need a box spring with this bed?

No. It is a platform bed, so a mattress sits directly on the slats.

What mattress size does it fit?

The listing is for the bed as configured; check the size option before ordering, since the frame is sized to a specific mattress.

How hard is assembly?

Owners say it is doable but slow, and easier with two people. Set aside an afternoon.

Is the headboard tall enough for a thick mattress?

The wingback design adds height, but a very deep mattress will cover more of it. Measure your mattress plus foundation before buying.

Is $138.99 a good price?

It is a low price for an upholstered wingback platform bed, and only one store lists it new at that figure as of November 6, 2026, so there is little to compare against.

What do buyers say about the Willa Arlo Interiors Permelia Upholstered Bed Headboard?

Our take on the Willa Arlo Interiors Permelia Upholstered Bed Headboard

The Permelia is an upholstered platform bed with a wingback headboard, built on a manufactured wood frame rated for 450 lb. The wing sides give it a taller, more finished look than a flat padded headboard, and the platform design means no box spring is needed. At $138.99 at Wayfair as of November 6, 2026, it sits at the low end of what upholstered wingback beds usually cost, so it is a budget pick rather than a premium one.
