Is this set good for a beginner?

Yes. It covers rough shaping, whittling and detail work, and the included strop lets you maintain the edges as you learn.

Can I use these knives on hard wood?

The maker does not recommend it. The 20° bevel is meant for soft wood, and the fine edge dulls faster on harder stock.

What is included in the set?

Six carving knives, a leather strop with polishing compound, and a canvas tool roll.

How do I keep the blades from rusting?

Dry them after every use and apply a light coat of oil. High-carbon steel rusts if left damp.

About the Wood Carving Knife Set in Tool Roll, 6 pcs

Our tools are sharpened to a 20° bevel angle, making them ideal for carving soft wood. We do not recommend using them on hard wood , as the fine edge may dull more quickly with tougher materials.
