Is the Insta360 X6 worth $699?

If you want one waterproof camera that captures everything around you and can reframe later, yes. If you mainly shoot flat 4K video, a standard action camera costs less.

Does it shoot 4K or only 1080p?

The listed HD format is 1080p, so expect 1080p 360 video rather than 4K. Check the exact mode before buying if resolution matters.

Is the X6 waterproof without a case?

It is listed as waterproof, so it should handle wet use without an extra housing. Confirm the rated depth before diving with it.

What do I need to start recording?

A microSD card and a way to charge over USB. The Essential Bundle option suggests some listings add extras, so check what each bundle includes.

When is the price lowest?

Six stores list it new, so compare them rather than assuming Walmart is cheapest. Watch for bundle discounts around major sales events.
