Questions and answers

Is the xDuoo MT-601s worth it?
It is a reasonable pick if you want a small tube pre-amp and Class A buffer for efficient headphones or as a pre-amp. If you need high output for demanding headphones, look at a more powerful solid-state amp.
Does it have a DAC?
No. It takes line-level analog input only, so you need a separate DAC or source with a line output.
Can it drive high-impedance headphones?
It outputs 200 mW into 32 ohms, which suits most efficient headphones and IEMs. High-impedance models like 300-ohm or 600-ohm headphones may not reach loud levels.
Can I use it as a pre-amp?
Yes. The line output lets you feed powered speakers or another amplifier, and the tube stage adds its character to that signal.
What is in the box?
The bundle includes the MT-601s amplifier and a 12AU7 SELECT Ray tube. The amp runs on a DC24V/2A supply.
When is it cheapest?
Tube amps like this tend to dip during holiday sales and clearance events. Check the price history before buying.
