Our take on the xDuoo MU-603 Bluetooth DAC/Tube Preamplifier with Apos Ray 12AU7 Matched Pair

The xDuoo MU-603 is a desktop Bluetooth DAC and tube preamplifier built around a 12AU7 tube stage. It takes Bluetooth 5.1 wirelessly and outputs a 2V line-level signal to powered speakers or an amplifier, running from a 12V/2A DC supply. This bundle pairs it with a matched pair of Apos Ray 12AU7 tubes, so you can swap or roll tubes without sourcing them separately. It is a niche piece for listeners who want tube warmth in a streaming setup rather than a full integrated amp.

Pros
  • Bluetooth 5.1 input removes the need for a wired source
  • Tube preamp stage adds warmth before powered speakers or an amp
  • 2V output level is enough to drive most line inputs
  • Matched Apos Ray 12AU7 pair included, ready to roll
  • Compact desktop footprint
Cons
  • No built-in amplification, so it needs powered speakers or a separate amp
  • Bluetooth only as a wireless input; no Wi-Fi streaming or app control
  • Tube gear adds warm-up time and eventual tube replacement cost
  • Limited published specs beyond power, Bluetooth version and output level

Questions and answers

Do I need an amplifier with the MU-603?
Yes, unless your speakers are powered. The MU-603 is a preamplifier with a 2V line output, so it feeds powered speakers or a separate power amp rather than driving passive speakers directly.
What tubes does it use?
It uses 12AU7 tubes, and this bundle includes a matched pair of Apos Ray 12AU7 tubes. You can roll in other 12AU7-family tubes later.
Can I connect a turntable or CD player?
The listed inputs cover Bluetooth 5.1 only, so a wired analog source would need its own path into your system. Check the rear panel before buying if you need line inputs.
Is Bluetooth 5.1 good enough for desktop listening?
For casual streaming from a phone or laptop it is fine. For critical listening, a wired source into a dedicated DAC will usually be cleaner.
What comes in the box?
The MU-603 unit, a 12V/2A DC power supply and the matched Apos Ray 12AU7 tube pair. Confirm the exact bundle contents with the seller.
When is it cheapest?
Tube gear like this tends to dip during holiday sales and bundle promotions. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
What do buyers say about the xDuoo MU-603 Bluetooth DAC/Tube Preamplifier with Apos Ray 12AU7 Matched Pair?
