Is the XR Elite MAX fast enough for commuting?

It tops out at 15.5 mph, which is typical for a 350W commuter scooter and fine for bike lanes and quiet streets. It is not a performance scooter.

The rated hill climb is only a 5% slope. Gentle inclines are fine, but steep hills will slow it and may require kicking.

How far can I really go on a charge?

The rated range is 18 miles. Expect less at full speed, in cold weather, or with a heavier rider.

Is it easy to carry on a train or bus?

At 35 lbs it is manageable for short carries and folds for transit. It is not as light as a 25-lb ultralight scooter.

What tires does it use?

It has 10-inch pneumatic rubber tires, which give a smoother ride on bumpy city streets than solid tires.

Does it have front and rear brakes?

No. Braking is rear-only with a reactive brake, so allow extra stopping distance in wet conditions.
