Is the 42-inch size right for my dog?

It suits dogs up to about 90 lbs that stand roughly 22 to 24 inches at the shoulder. Measure your dog's height and length plus a few inches before buying. A growing large-breed puppy may need the 48-inch model.

Does it come with a divider?

Not always. Some listings include a divider panel and some do not, so check the box contents before you buy if you plan to crate train a puppy.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes, the powder-coated wire and waterproof tray handle outdoor use. Do not leave a dog in it in direct sun or extreme heat.

How does it compare with the 48-inch version?

The 48-inch model is longer and taller, at 48 by 29 by 31.5 inches, for very large breeds. The 42-inch is lighter and easier to move but tighter for dogs near the 90 lb limit.

Is it worth it over a premium crate?

For a calm dog or short-term use, yes. For a strong chewer or a dog that panics in a crate, a heavier-gauge crate is the safer buy.

Wire crates like this tend to dip during holiday sales and back-to-school events. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.

It is aimed at large breeds up to 90 lbs and suits crate training, travel and post-surgery confinement. The 42-inch size is the middle of Yaheetech's range, below the 48-inch model.
