Our take on the YETI Roadie 24 Hard Cooler

The YETI Roadie 24 is a rotomolded hard cooler sized for day trips, tailgates and car trunks. It holds 33 cans with ice and uses YETI's PermaFrost insulation and a freezer-grade gasket to keep ice for days. It is tall and narrow, so it fits behind a seat or in a small trunk, and it weighs about 12.8 lb empty. At $185 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it sits well below its usual street price of roughly $250.

Questions and answers

Is the YETI Roadie 24 worth it at $185?
At $185 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it is a good price for a rotomolded cooler that holds ice for days. It is worth it if you need durability and ice retention more than light weight.
How many cans does the Roadie 24 hold?
YETI rates it for 33 cans using a 2:1 ice-to-can ratio. Without ice it fits more, but ice retention drops.

No. The Roadie 24 has no drain, so you tip it to empty meltwater. The larger Roadie 48 and 60 do have drains.
How heavy is the Roadie 24?
It weighs about 12.8 lb empty. Loaded with ice and drinks it is heavy enough that most people carry it with two hands.

Its tall, narrow footprint is designed to fit behind seats and in small trunks. Check your trunk height against its roughly 17.5-inch height before buying.
