Do I need a box spring with the Zinus Alexia?

No. The slatted platform supports a mattress directly, so a box spring is not required.

What mattress thickness works best?

Any standard king mattress works. A 10- to 12-inch mattress sits at a typical bed height on this 12-inch frame.

How much weight does it hold?

Zinus rates its platform beds for roughly 700 to 750 pounds total in king size, spread across the frame.

Is assembly difficult?

No. It ships flat with hardware and tools, and most owners finish in about an hour.

Is $204.99 a good price?

Our take on the Zinus Alexia Platform 12 Inch King

The Zinus Alexia is a 12-inch platform bed frame in king size, built from wood, MDF and steel with a natural wood-grain finish. It needs no box spring: the slatted base supports the mattress directly and gives about 12 inches of clearance underneath for storage.
