Our take on the Zinus Wood Grain King Platform Bed SPI-DFKS-12K

The Zinus Wood Grain King Platform Bed is a solid pine platform frame with a wood-grain finish and a slatted base, so no box spring is needed. It is a low-profile, budget-friendly frame aimed at people who want a wood look without a full wood bed. At $359 at The Home Depot as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, so it is not a standout deal right now.

Questions and answers

Do I need a box spring with this bed?
No. The slatted platform base supports a king mattress directly, so a box spring is not required.
Is $359 a good price?
It is the best new price among the three stores listing it as of November 7, 2026, but it is at the top of the bed's recent range. Waiting for a drop is reasonable.
What size mattress does it take?
It is a king frame, so it fits a standard king mattress.
Is it solid wood?
It is built from pine with a wood-grain finish. Pine is a softer wood, so expect some denting over time.
How much clearance is under the bed?
It is a low-profile frame, so under-bed clearance is limited and not suited to tall storage bins.
Where is the Zinus Wood Grain King Platform Bed SPI-DFKS-12K cheapest?
At The Home Depot, for $359.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Zinus Wood Grain King Platform Bed SPI-DFKS-12K?
3 stores we checked sell it, including The Home Depot, Lowe's, Mattress Firm.
