Questions and answers

Is the Gilkey rug worth it?
For a large, soft shag look at under $90, yes. Expect to replace or rotate it sooner than a low-pile rug in busy rooms.
How does it compare with a lower-pile rug?
It is softer and cheaper per square foot, but a low-pile or flatweave rug is easier to clean and holds up better under furniture and foot traffic.
Can I use it over floor heating?
Yes. The listing states it is suitable for floors with heating.
How big is it really?
It is 79 by 108 inches, roughly 6.5 by 9 feet. Measure your space first, since a shag this size fills a small room.
What is the pile height?
2.75 inches, a deep shag. Doors may drag over it and robot vacuums will struggle.
When is it cheapest?
Recent pricing ranged from $78.99 on November 1, 2026, to $88.99 on October 31, 2026. The gap is small, so waiting rarely saves much.
Where is the Zipcode Design Gilkey Area Rug cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $88.99, 69% off, as of our latest check.
Is the Zipcode Design Gilkey Area Rug at its lowest price?
The lowest price we've seen is $78.99 at Wayfair on November 1, against $88.99 now.
