Do I need a vacuum cleaner to use these?

Yes for full compression. A vacuum with a hose attachment works best; a hand pump works but takes longer. The bags still hold clothes without vacuuming, just at normal volume.

Can I use them for travel and then reopen them?

Yes. The slider zipper reseals, so you can compress at home, travel, and reopen at your destination. Expect some creasing in clothes after compression.

What can I safely put in them?

Sweaters, shirts, bedding, pillows and other soft goods. Avoid sharp, stiff or damp items, which can puncture the film or cause mildew.

How many sweaters fit?

The large flat bag holds up to about 10 sweaters and the travel bag about 5 shirts or sweaters, depending on thickness.
