Does the Milk Boss heat milk?

No. It only whisks air into the milk, so warm the milk first if you want a hot drink.

What batteries does it use?

It takes standard AA batteries, which are not included. Rechargeable AAs work and cut running costs.

How much milk can it froth at once?

About a quarter to a third of a cup. Use a tall cup to keep it from splashing.

Can I wash it under the tap?

No. Wipe the shaft and whisk, or dip just the whisk in warm water while it spins, then dry it.

Is it worth it over a $30 electric frother?

If you want hot, hands-off froth, a heated electric frother does more. At $9.99 this one is for cold foam and small drinks on a budget.

What comes in the box?

The frother and a stand. Batteries are not included.
