Best 3-seat sofas for living rooms

Top pick: Rove Lab M1 Sofa Three Seater — a proper living-room sofa rather than a budget import: spill-proof performance weave, smart-foam cushions and a strong rating from over a thousand reviews. It's the one I'd buy for daily family use.

Who the others suit:

• Haven 3-Seat Modular — if you want to rearrange seating and add the included ottoman.
• CloudComfort Modular Washable — households with kids or pets who need covers you can wash.
• CLOUDIES 134" — big rooms and lounging; very deep seats.
• BedLuxury modular with ottomans — flexible seating on a tighter budget.
• DHP Brynn / Asucoora velvet — a compact, dressier look for smaller rooms.
• Neche and Muumblus — starter sofas; check the seat depth and fabric wear before committing.

Measure your doorway and lift before ordering any of the long modular pieces.
