Best 72-inch drop-in bathtubs

Top pick: Malibu Naples 72" x 36" x 22" drop-in. It's the most straightforward true drop-in here — acrylic, a deep 95-gallon-to-overflow basin, and a standard 72 x 36 footprint that fits most tub decks without a custom surround.

Who the others suit:

• Kohler Windward 72" x 42" — if you want a wider, roomier deck and a brand with service behind it.
• Mariposa 72" drop-in — a solid mid-range acrylic if you like a sculpted, softer look.
• Swiss Madison Voltaire 72 x 36 — the budget route; drain and overflow included, so fewer extras to buy.
• Water Tech 72" whirlpool tubs — if you want jets; note the biscuit colour and the wider 38–43" footprints.
• Streamline 72 x 36 — a slim soaking tub with an external drain already supplied.

Check your rough opening and drain position before ordering — 72 x 36 is the common size, but 42" and 43" models need a bigger alcove.
