Best clear insulated water bottles

Top pick: Tervis Venture Lite Clear Water Bottle — the only bottle here that's genuinely see-through and built to hold cold: leakproof, freezer-safe and slim enough for most cup holders. It's the one to grab if you want to watch your water level and still have it cold hours later.

Who the others suit:

• yierdao Clear Insulated Bottle — a see-through double-wall option if you want a wide-mouth lid for ice and easy filling; cold retention isn't spelled out, so treat it as a light-duty pick.
• MUMQAQ Double Wall Clear Bottle — same idea, smaller and cheapest; fine for a desk or short trips rather than a full day out.
• CamelBak Podium Chill — the best cold-keeping of the bunch and a favourite for cycling and gym bags, but it's opaque, so you can't see through it.
• Tervis 24oz Tritan — insulated and sturdy if you'd rather have a coloured bottle than a clear one.

Clear glass bottles look great but aren't insulated, so they won't keep water cold.
