Questions and answers
- When does Orijen go on sale?
- Orijen discounts cluster around major retail events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day, plus periodic store-specific promotions. Outside those windows, savings are usually small because the brand holds list prices firmly.
- Where is Orijen cheapest?
- Chewy and Amazon usually match or beat pet specialty stores on the larger bag sizes, and autoship or subscribe-and-save discounts of around 5% to 35% can lower the per-bag cost further. Warehouse clubs occasionally carry Orijen at lower unit prices but with limited formula selection.
- What is Orijen best known for?
- Orijen's Original formula is its best-known product: a grain-free dry dog food with roughly 85% animal ingredients and about 38% crude protein. The brand is also known for its WholePrey approach, which includes organ and cartilage meats rather than only muscle meat.
- Does Orijen have a return policy?
- Orijen does not sell directly to shoppers, so returns go through the retailer you bought from. Chewy and Amazon generally accept returns on unopened bags within their standard windows, and Chewy often refunds opened food if a dog won't eat it.
- Is Orijen good for puppies?
- Orijen Original meets AAFCO nutrient profiles for all life stages, so it can be fed to puppies, though large-breed puppies may do better on a formula with controlled calcium and phosphorus. Orijen makes a dedicated Puppy recipe for that case.
