Which is better for a heavy mattress or two sleepers?

The Allewie. It states an 800 lb weight capacity and uses a metal frame with solid wood slats. Modern Sleep does not publish a capacity for the Cambridge.

Is the Allewie worth about $29 more?

For most shoppers, yes. At $155.76 at Amazon versus $126.99 at eBay as of November 3, 2026, you pay more for a stated weight limit, a velvet padded headboard and a 3,320-rating track record.

Do either need a box spring?

No. Both are platform beds with slats, so a mattress sits directly on the frame.

Which has more underbed storage room?

The Allewie lists 9.4 inches from floor to frame. Modern Sleep does not publish clearance for the Cambridge, so measure before you count on storage space.

Which is easier to assemble?

Both require assembly. Allewie describes labeled parts and minimal hardware, which usually speeds things up. Modern Sleep gives no assembly detail.

The Allewie is the safer bet because of its metal frame, solid wood slats and large review base. There is no long-term data on the Cambridge.
